The government pension offset (GPO) reduces or eliminates Social Security spousal and survivor's benefits for most retirees who collect pensions from jobs that were not covered by the program.

The Coalition to Preserve Retirement Security is working with lawmakers in Washington to reform the offset and lessen its impact on the hundreds of thousands of public retirees who have their benefits cut.
